This patient presented with a lifelong fullness along the left cheek and jawline that created noticeable facial asymmetry. After extensive evaluation, Dr. Schmidt determined that part of the imbalance was related to an underlying mandibular asymmetry with which she was born.

Rather than performing aggressive jawbone surgery that would still likely not produce a completely symmetrical result, Dr. Schmidt advised selective removal as a more conservative option for improving facial balance.
