What to Do in Steamboat Springs

The Rockies

Steamboat Springs (or Steamboat, as locals refer to it) is a home rule municipality in Colorado’s Routt County with a population of just over 13,000 as of 2019. Located in the Rockies, Steamboat, with an altitude of 6,732 feet above sea-level, is a world-class ski destination. Here are the area’s most popular tourist attractions other than snowboarding or skiing:

Hot Springs

Steamboat is home to some popular hot spring resorts – perfect for soaking in summer or winter.

Just 7 miles from downtown, Strawberry Park Hot Springs offers guided tours and an hour and 15-minute soak in the hot springs. Old Town Hot Springs is the area’s oldest mineral springs resort which features eight pools, a full-service gym, and a 3000 square foot hot activity pool.

Hiking

The area offers breathtaking views of nature, from lush green forests, rivers, canyons, and of course, hiking trails. Located in downtown Steamboat Springs, Emerald Mountain & Howelsen Hill feature 10 miles of trails for biking or hiking. Mount Werner is part of the Park Range of the Rockies and features a 10,570 peak.  Ride the gondola for scenic views of the mountain.

Museum and Art Gallery Tours

Mambo Italiano has some of the best-reviewed dishes such as Funghi e Polenta, Tartare di Manzo, and Cod Saltimbocca.
