The choice to undergo cosmetic surgery is deeply personal. Many patients consider their options for years or even decades. Whether you are considering facial rejuvenation to restore lost volume or a rhinoplasty to balance the appearance of the face, Schmidt Facial Plastic Surgery offers a revolutionary option to help patients visualize their potential results during the consultation process.

Why does Dr. Schmidt use 3-D simulation?

Communication between you and your surgeon is important when conveying your ultimate aesthetic goals. The Vectra 3-D simulation imaging technology allows you and Dr. Schmidt to visually communicate the objectives, considerations and limitations of your aesthetic treatment plan providing you with the confidence to make an informed decision on your treatment options.

In addition to viewing your potential results, Dr. Schmidt may utilize the images to show you:

    1. Facial symmetry – understanding any existing facial asymmetry is important in understanding how to balance your facial features.
    2. Volume differences – loss of volume to specific areas of the face, as well as sagging tissues that cause volume displacement as a we age.
    3. Underlying conditions – facial aging and appearance goes deeper than the superficial skin surface. RBX technology will show vascular conditions and subsurface melanin (brown spots) that may be consideration factors for your treatment plan.

How does the Vectra simulation work?

During your consultation, a series of three photos are taken from different angles using a specialized camera configuration. The 3-D simulation software then stitches these images together to create a 180 degree, three dimensional image of your face that can be rotated to view in various angles and altered to illustrate your potential postoperative appearance with Dr. Schmidt’s recommended procedures.

It is important to remember that the system isn’t a guarantee of what your after surgery results will be. There are several factors during the surgical and recovery process that can ultimately affect your potential results. However, studies have shown that the virtual image created by the Vectra 3-D system is extremely effective in visualizing your potential after results in a way that was not previously possible.
